Therapy for Anxiety, Burnout & Perfectionism
For People Who Hold It All Together
When you can’t say no - but you realize you can no longer afford not to.
You may be the one others rely on—capable, thoughtful, steady on the outside—while inside you feel anxious, stretched thin, or emotionally exhausted.
You’ve learned to push through.
To take care of others.
To keep things moving.
Even when it costs you.
I’m Ruth Hescock
I provide trauma-informed therapy for adults who are tired of holding it all together and are ready for deeper, lasting change—not just more coping strategies.
Using experiential, trauma-informed approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR, I work with the underlying patterns that drive anxiety, perfectionism, and chronic self-pressure—so relief isn’t just understood, but felt in your body.
In-person therapy in Beaverton, Oregon & Online therapy available throughout Oregon and Washington.
When Holding It All Together Becomes Unsustainable
From the outside, your life may look stable—even successful. You manage responsibilities, meet expectations, and show up for others.
Inside, it can feel different.
Maybe you:
Feel responsible for other people’s emotions
Say yes automatically, even when you’re overwhelmed
Struggle to rest without guilt
Overthink conversations long after they end
Appear calm while feeling chronically on edge
Experience burnout that never fully resolves
You might not use the word perfectionism. You might not think of yourself as a people-pleaser.
You just know you’re tired.
Whether you are processing the past, navigating the present, or integrating profound inner experiences, therapy can help you reconnect with your innate capacity to heal from the inside out.
Therapy That Creates Change You Can Feel
Understanding your patterns is important—but insight alone doesn’t create lasting relief.
As an experiential, somatic therapist, I help you work beneath the surface of anxiety and burnout. Together, we gently explore the parts of you that learned to over-function, over-give, or over-perform—and help them shift at their roots.
This work may include:
Processing past experiences with EMDR
Working with protective patterns through Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Regulating your nervous system through somatic awareness
Developing boundaries that feel grounded—not forced
Change happens not only in how you think, but in how you feel—in your body, in your nervous system, and in your daily life.
